Marquette- Power With: Leading from the Heart

September 25 - 8:30 am - 4:30 pm

$50.00
A woman looking empathetic and holding another women's hand.

Peer support leadership is more about supervision and people management. Our lived experiences shape who we are, how we interact with others and how we hold and share power with others in our communities. This workshop will introduce liberatory peer support leadership. Themes discussed will include common misconceptions about leadership culture, navigating hierarchy in real life situations, and the importance of leading from the heart and remaining rooted in our lived experiences.

Objectives:
• Participants will receive a nuanced introduction to liberatory peer leadership and its key elements.
• Participants will identify their unique leadership voice and style and understand the importance of remaining rooted in their own lived experiences.
• Participants will practice their own unique leadership voice and style using common scenarios related to supervision, team management, local community, and immediate relationships.

Trainer: Nze Okoronta
Nze is a harm reductionist, facilitator, and consultant. They are known for work surrounding crisis services, public health impact and social policy.
