Interested in becoming a certified peer?

The peer support field is always growing! If you are interested in becoming an MDHHS certified peer support specialist (CPSS) or recovery coach (CPRC), use this information about the certification process. Additionally, upcoming certification trainings are listed below.
Steps to becoming a certified peer recovery coach or support specialist:
  • Review the CPRC/CPSS applications linked here. On the very first page of the applications you will find a list of eligibility requirements to be eligible for certification.
  • If you meet all of those requirements, complete all of the required parts of the application and submit it using the link on this page
  • Once submitted, your application will be reviewed and someone from the MDHHS team will reach out with information on the next steps in the process.
