If you are ready to let go of endless dieting and self-judgement, Mindful & Intuitive Eating will teach you to tap into your inherent wisdom to create a healthier relationship with food and your body. Rediscover the joy of food and eating as you learn to respect your body and improve your wellbeing.

Through mindfulness meditation and yoga, you’ll learn to listen to the guidance of your body. This class is a non-diet approach that advocates non-judgment and self-compassion. Students re-learn to use intuitive cues to guide when and what to eat.

You will learn:
• How to meet yourself with compassion and curiosity.
• How to motivate yourself with kindness instead of criticism.
• The basics of mindful eating.
• Mindful eating, sitting meditation, body scan, and gentle yoga practices.
• How to work with thoughts and emotions that trigger mindless eating.

According to peer reviewed research, regular mindfulness practice:
• Reduce stress, anxiety, and depression.
• Improves sleep, focus, and attention.
• Reduce symptoms of chronic illness and pain.
• Enhances ability to experience joy and contentment.
• Increases confidence and self-acceptance.

Certified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Instructor
Co-Founder, Grand Rapids Center for Mindfulness

Carol has been teaching Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) since 2008 and mindful self-compassion classes since 2014. She has led hundreds of students through these programs. Her classes emphasize safety and self-honoring as she guides students to build resilience and strengthen their mindfulness skills.

Eligible for 3.25 Continuing Education Credits. 

Lunch will be included with registration. (Lunch is from 12 p.m.- 1:30 p.m.)

Cancellation Policy: Registrations may be transferred to another employee of the same agency upon written request to registration@mipeers.org. Cancellations must be received in writing at least 12 days prior to the date of the training. Failure to cancel registration within the allotted time will result in registration fees being forfeited. Attendance Policy: You must attend the entire training. If you are more than 10 minutes late you will not be allowed to attend as part of the CE requirements. Breaks are built into the training schedule. Participants who miss more than 10 minutes of the training outside of scheduled breaks will not receive CE credit. Attendees must follow the training guidelines.
