Mastering Forgiveness

I know you have experienced the fact that “we are our own worst critic.” The hardest person you will have to forgive is yourself. Why is that? Wouldn’t it be great for you to be able to forgive yourself for mistakes you have made in the past? Imagine how good you will feel when you are able to forgive yourself!
Participants will:
- Reflect on peer’s individual experiences that may make self-forgiveness feel difficult, and consider what support looks like for them.
- Explore separate ways of understanding forgiveness and notice which perspectives feel most helpful or empowering.
- Share and hear peer-supported approaches to forgiveness that respect readiness, choice, and personal boundaries.
- Look at their life experiences through a wider lens and notice strengths, growth, and resilience along the way.
- Connect with hope-building thoughts that support peer’s vision for their future.
- Talk through common beliefs about forgiveness and decide which ones support their wellness and which ones they may want to let go of.
