Managing Your Emotions

April 13 - 9:30 am - 3:30 pm
$25.00

At the center of everything we do (or don’t do) are our emotions. What would life be like for you if you could stop people from pushing your buttons? What would it be like if you could decide how you wanted to feel about something, and then feel that way? Would you enjoy life more if you were amazing at managing your emotions? This is your opportunity to get really good at managing your emotions.

Participants will:

  • Strengthen their ability to stay emotionally grounded while supporting others in crisis or distress.
  • Practice recognizing emotional escalation early and responding with supportive peer-appropriate strategies.
  • Learn language patterns that promote empowerment, choice and self-efficacy in the people they support.
  • Distinguish between empathy and emotional over-identification to prevent compassion fatigue.
  • Explore how to use lived experience safely and effectively without becoming emotionally flooded.
  • Apply grounding techniques they can use personally and teach peers in real-time support situations.

Meet the Trainer:
