Self-Compassion is the practice of befriending ourselves just the way we are. It gives us strategies to live fully through both the joys and the sorrows of our lives. It reminds us that all human beings struggle, and we are not alone. It is a powerful tool for emotional resilience that teaches us to support ourselves with kindness and compassion instead of harshness and self-criticism. In this class we will explore why mindfulness is the foundation of self-compassion and how we can leverage these practices to live happier and more productive lives.
In peer-reviewed studies, Mindful Self-Compassion has been shown to significantly increase compassion for self and others as well as life satisfaction. It has also been shown to decrease depression, anxiety, and stress.
