Training Overview-

This training provides certified Peers an opportunity to explore how resilience has played an influential role in their wellness journey. Participants will describe what resilience means to them and will explore how this has helped them persevere through life’s challenges. At this training, we will explore how peer support enhances resilience. Peers will leave this training with not only their own personal insight but with tools to support other peers in overcoming adversity and building resilience.

Training Objectives

  • Defining resiliency.
  • Identifying examples of how being resilient has played a role in life’s journey.
  • Exploring ways to support peers by uncovering their own inner strength using peer principles.

Trainers

Glynis Morris is a Certified Peer Recovery Coach (CPRC) and Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) with over a decade of experience in behavioral health. She recently retired after more than 10 years with Lincoln Behavioral Services in Redford, Michigan, where she facilitated groups on trauma and co-occurring disorders and served as a member of the Dialectical Behavior Therapy team.

Glynis brings both professional expertise and lived experience to her work. She has trained CPSS and CPRC professionals across Michigan on human trafficking and trauma-informed healing, offering a compassionate, real-world perspective grounded in recovery and resilience. Her passion lies in giving back to individuals who feel hopeless after experiencing the cruelty of life and in walking alongside others as they rediscover strength, purpose, and healing.

Jeanne White, CPSS, Advanced Level WRAP Facilitator, is a person who has been in recovery since the mid 1980s. Jeanne brings a wealth of knowledge from lived experiences through her own personal recovery. Jeanne has worked as a CPSS since 2008. Jeanne, her  husband Bob, and her loyal golden retriever have supported peers as they attended their initial peer trainings as an onsite coordinator/liaison with Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) Peer Services Area. Jeanne was certified as a Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) facilitator and advanced level WRAP trainer in 2008. Since then, she has facilitated many WRAP groups and trained peers across the state of Michigan through MDHHS and her own business, Recovery INK, LLC. Since 2020, Jeanne has worked as both a Peer Warmline responder and supervisor on the Peer Warmline. Jeanne continues her daily pathway of recovery that is built on a positive attitude and personal responsibility.
