Workshop | Peer Drift

Presented By

Tendra Hedges

Description

The history of peer support included fellow patients and service users who recognized that help should not harm. They were disrupters and advocates, people with equal amounts of compassion and outrage who forged the pathways for the peer models that we know today. As the field evolves at a rapid pace, there is a risk of drifting away from our core values. In this module, participants will: Identify signs of drifting out of the peer role, explore similarities and differences with other roles, discover how to stay anchored to avoid role drift, and recover passion and purpose
