This training is part of the 20th Anniversary Celebration at Higgins Lake. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and lodging will be provided. More information can be found about Higgins Lake here.

This training invites participants to reflect on personal growth through the lens of recovery, using the symbolism of the dragonfly to explore themes of transformation, self-compassion, and letting go. Through guided discussion and expressive art, participants will create a personal symbol of recovery while deepening their connection to their healing journey.

In this training, participants will:

  1. Explore the Symbolism of the Dragonfly:
  • Understand the dragonfly as it represents transformation and adaptability and how it mirrors your personal recovery journey.
  1. Release what no longer fosters recovery:
  • Identify and begin the process of letting go of limiting beliefs, emotional baggage, or past identities that prevent growth and healing.
  • Define grace and share the impact grace plays in recovery.
  1. Embrace the light within:
  • Foster self-compassion, joy, and authenticity as foundations for a renewed sense of self and purpose.
  • Define mantra.
  1. Create a tangible representation of your dragonfly, as a symbol of your recovery.

About the Trainer: Talitha Dahlquist, CPSS, CPRC, Executive Director

Talitha Dahlquist believes in the power of transformation, that in in our hearts and souls we all have the power to change ourselves and the world around us. “Be the change you want to see in the world” Mahatma Gandhi. As Executive Director at a Drop-In in the UP she does her best to lead by example of grace, forgiveness, and change. She does this as a Certified Peer Support Specialist, Certified Peer Recovery Coach.
