DESCRIPTION:Explore new pathways in your recovery journey with our interactive online training. Learn how different recovery routes can support your personal growth and those you serve. Through collaboration and self-reflection\, you’ll uncover and share pathways you may not have realized were part of your recovery. Join us for a session of discovery and connection. \nTraining Objectives: \n\nBetter understand many different groups that support multiple pathways.\nLearn about the history of mutual aid groups.\nSelf-discover all the pathways you have used to support your recovery.\nBe able to help the people you serve build a roadmap of their own unique recovery pathway.\n\nTrainers: \nAndrew Brown (LLMSW\, CPRC\, CPRM) is a clinical social worker\, recovery coach\, and person in long-term recovery. He is passionate about a multiple pathways approach to recovery and is deeply committed to harm reduction. Andrew is also dedicated to expanding and improving services to ensure that resources are accessible for all individuals seeking help with substance-related issues. \nPriscilla Shafor (BS\, CADC\, CPRC\, CPRM\, RCPF) is a person in long-term recovery with over 20 years of experience working with individuals impacted by substance use disorders and involvement in the justice system. Her work focuses on expanding access to recovery support and empowering people to make informed choices about their recovery paths. \nShe is a contracted trainer with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS)\, providing continuing education for Peer Recovery Coaches. Priscilla also holds the Recovery Coach Professional Facilitator (RCPF) designation through the Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR)\, authorizing her to facilitate all (CCAR) curricula. Her facilitation style blends lived experience with professional expertise and is grounded in a deep commitment to recovery-oriented systems of care. \nEligible for 4 virtual Continuing Education credits. \nRegistration: Please register below (on this site) using a credit or debit card\, which is the quickest way to confirm your attendance. \nOnly if you need to pay by check\, please complete this form (click here) and email it to: registration@mipeers.org. DESCRIPTION:Have you ever been stuck in grief? Have you had trouble “getting over” a loss? Everyone has experienced loss of one kind or another. Some experience the loss of a job\, a relationship\, or even the loss of expectations. This list of losses could go on. If you have experienced any loss\, especially if you are stuck in your grief\, this training will help you learn how to process your own grief. This will help you in your own recovery and help you be able to help those you work with at an even higher level. And that would be helpful to you\, wouldn’t it? \nIn This Training You Will: \n\nExplore individual experiences of loss in a safe\, supportive learning space.\nIdentify ways grief shows up in thoughts\, emotions\, and daily life.\nDiscover peer-based strategies for moving through grief at their own pace.\nRecognize strengths and resilience that support healing and recovery.\nGain new perspectives that promote hope and self-compassion.\nPractice practical tools they can use both for their own wellness and when supporting others.\n\nAbout the Trainer:\nChuck Hendrix is a Certified Peer Support Specialist\, Certified Life Coach\, and NLP Practitioner\, and a Board-Certified Hypnotherapist. He has been studying personal growth for more than 25 years. He is always developing special trainings to further the impact that CPSS and Recovery Coaches can make with those they work with. Chuck is known for his unique communication style that is both engaging and funny.
