In this class you will experience formal mindfulness practices that train your mind for greater focus and clarity\, and informal practices to integrate into your day to enhance your ability to remain calm\, curious\, and kind. \nSome things you will learn: \n\nWhat mindfulness is and how it can benefit you.\nThe research that supports mindfulness as a tool to reduce stress.\nSkills to shift from reacting to responding to stress.\nHow to work with difficult thoughts and emotions.\nFormal and informal mindfulness practices.\n\nScientific research has consistently demonstrated that mindfulness: \n\nReduces stress\, anxiety\, and depression.\nImproves sleep.\nReduces symptoms of chronic illness.\nImproves ability to experience joy and contentment.\nImproves confidence and self-acceptance.\n\nWhat’s Included: \n\nIntroduction to Mindfulness Participant Handbook PDF.\nLinks to audio and video practices.\n\nTrainer: \nCarol Hendershot\, RYT 500\nCertified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Instructor\nCo-Founder\, Grand Rapids Center for Mindfulness \nCarol has been teaching the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) since 2008 and has led hundreds of students through the program. Her classes emphasize safety and self-honoring as she guides students to build resilience and strengthen their mindfulness skills. \nEligible for 4 MDHHS Continuing Education Credits \nRegistration: Please register below (on this site) using a credit or debit card\, which is the quickest way to confirm your attendance. \nONLY if you need to pay by check\, please complete this form (click here) and email it to: registration@mipeers.org. Do not use this form if you are paying by credit/debit card. \nCancellation Policy: Registrations may be transferred to another employee of the same agency upon written request to registration@mipeers.org. Cancellations must be received in writing at least 12 days prior to the date of the training. Failure to cancel registration within the allotted time will result in registration fees being forfeited. If you are more than 10 minutes late you will not be allowed to attend as part of the CE requirements. Please note there is absolutely NO driving during the training. If you are driving while attending the training\, you will be removed from the training for your own safety. Training guidelines must be read\, signed\, and returned back to the office before a zoom link is sent to the participant. Attendees must follow the training guidelines.
