SUMMARY:Dealing with Grief and Loss around the Holidays
DESCRIPTION:The holidays are filled with mixed emotions for a lot of people. Some have wonderful memories; others feel stuck for one reason or another. In fact\, some people are stuck in grief and find it difficult to enjoy the holidays. For some this is because of the loss they experienced took place around a holiday. For others\, it’s about who is missing at the holiday get together. Dealing with Grief and Loss Around the Holidays\, will help individuals who are struggling with their own grief and loss as well as give them tools to help others who are Dealing with Grief and Loss around the Holidays. \nParticipants will:\n• Figure out what keeps them stuck in their grief cycle\, and how to get out of it.\n• See a brighter future that honors the memory of their loved one.\n• Hear questions that can be asked to help people deal with their grief and loss around the holidays.\n• Look at using sub modalities to process holiday grief easily and effortlessly.\n• Discover ways to use the “Swish Pattern” to turn “sad holiday memories” into “happy ones.”\n• Listen to the language patterns that cause them more pain and learn how to release it now. \nAbout the Trainer:\nChuck Hendrix is a Certified Peer Support Specialist\, Certified Life Coach\, and NLP Practitioner\, and a Board-Certified Hypnotherapist. He has been studying personal growth for more than 25 years. He is always developing special trainings to further the impact that CPSS and Recovery Coaches can make with those they work with. Chuck is known for his unique communication style that is both engaging and funny. You won’t want to miss this training. \nEligible for 4.5 MDHHS Continuing Education credits. This is a virtual training. Join us for a session of discovery and connection. \nTraining Objectives: \n\nBetter understand many different groups that support multiple pathways.\nLearn about the history of mutual aid groups.\nSelf-discover all the pathways you have used to support your recovery.\nBe able to help the people you serve build a roadmap of their own unique recovery pathway.\n\nTrainers: \nAndrew Brown (LLMSW\, CPRC\, CPRM) is a clinical social worker\, recovery coach\, and person in long-term recovery. He is passionate about a multiple pathways approach to recovery and is deeply committed to harm reduction. Andrew is also dedicated to expanding and improving services to ensure that resources are inclusive and accessible for all individuals seeking help for substance-related issues. \nPriscilla Shafor (BS\, CADC\, CPRC\, CPRM\, RCPF) is a person in long-term recovery with over 20 years of experience working with individuals impacted by substance use disorders and involvement in the justice system. Her work focuses on expanding access to recovery support and empowering people to make informed choices about their recovery paths. \nShe is a contracted trainer with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS)\, providing continuing education for Peer Recovery Coaches. Priscilla also holds the Recovery Coach Professional Facilitator (RCPF) designation through the Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR)\, authorizing her to facilitate all (CCAR) curricula. \nHer facilitation style blends lived experience with professional expertise and is grounded in a deep commitment to recovery-oriented systems of care. \nEligible for 4 MDHHS Continuing Education credits.
