DESCRIPTION:Training Overview: \nThis workshop will meet the pre-requisite to qualify for the Five-Day WRAP Facilitator Training. Each day is on zoom from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. You must attend both days. \nObjectives: \n\nRecognize the importance of the WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Planning) concept pertaining to your own\nwellness and recovery.\nList the five key concepts of WRAP.\nLearn the six sections of the WRAP plan.\nDevelop your individual WRAP plan.\nImplement WRAP into your daily life.\nApply the WRAP tools in your work as a Certified Peer Support Specialist or Certified Recovery Coach.\n\nTrainer: \nDeb Monroe\, CPSS\, Advanced Level WRAP Facilitator\nJeanne White\, CPSS\, Advanced Level WRAP Facilitator \nEligible for 11 MDHHS Continuing Education Credits \nRegistration: Please register below (on this site) using a credit or debit card\, which is the quickest way to confirm your attendance. \nONLY if you need to pay by check\, please complete this form (click here) and email it to: registration@mipeers.org. Do not use this form if you are paying by credit/debit card. \nCancellation Policy: Registrations may be transferred to another employee of the same agency upon written request to registration@mipeers.org. Cancellations must be received in writing at least 12 days prior to the date of the training. Failure to cancel registration within the allotted time will result in registration fees being forfeited. DESCRIPTION:Training Overview:  \nWe all experience painful emotional states at times. Anger\, anxiety\, and fear are adaptive reactions to challenges because they direct our attention to threats to help us survive in difficult circumstances. Mindfulness is the practice of paying attention to our moment-to-moment experience with curiosity and acceptance rather than judgment and resistance. By learning to pay attention in this way\, we can begin to diffuse the negative effects of complex emotions and understand their true meaning. \nMindfulness tools help us deal with these difficult mind states by focusing our attention on what is important right now. They also guide us to identify our triggers\, clarify our feelings\, and respond with wisdom. Mindfulness training has been shown to be one of the most effective ways to reduce distress\, improve the quality of our emotional fitness\, and even alter the structure and function of our brains. \nLearn Mindfulness Skills to: \n\nIdentify emotional triggers.\nReduce emotional reactivity.\nRecover from intense emotions more quickly.\nExamine the validity of our thoughts.\n\nLearn practices that increase resilience such as: \n\nYoga\, meditation\, and the body scan.\nRegular routines to release stress throughout the day.\n\nAccording to Peer Reviewed Research\, Regular Mindfulness Practice: \n\nReduces stress\, anxiety\, and depression.\nImproves sleep\, focus\, and attention.\nReduces symptoms of chronic illness and pain.\nEnhances ability to experience joy and contentment.\nIncreases confidence and self-acceptance.\n\nWhat’s Included: \n\nMindfulness for Difficult Emotions Participant Handbook PDF.\nLinks to audio and video practices.\n\nTrainer: \nCarol Hendershot\, RYT 500\nCertified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Instructor\nCo-Founder\, Grand Rapids Center for Mindfulness \nCarol has been teaching the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) since 2008 and has led hundreds of students through the program.
