He is passionate about a multiple pathways approach to recovery and is deeply committed to harm reduction. Andrew is also dedicated to expanding and improving services to ensure that resources are accessible for all individuals seeking help with substance-related issues. \nPriscilla Shafor (BS\, CADC\, CPRC\, CPRM\, RCPF) is a person in long-term recovery with over 20 years of experience working with individuals impacted by substance use disorders and involvement in the justice system. Her work focuses on expanding access to recovery support and empowering people to make informed choices about their recovery paths. \nShe is a contracted trainer with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS)\, providing continuing education for Peer Recovery Coaches. Priscilla also holds the Recovery Coach Professional Facilitator (RCPF) designation through the Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR)\, authorizing her to facilitate all (CCAR) curricula. Participants will learn how to develop personal life and wellness goals as they engage in a mutual learning model with other peers. Note: this workshop will meet the prerequisite to qualify for the Three-Day WRAP Facilitator Training. Each day is from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. You must attend both days. \nObjectives: \n\nRecognize the importance of the WRAP concept pertaining to your own wellness and recovery.\nList the five key concepts of WRAP.\nLearn the six sections of the WRAP plan.\nDevelop your individual WRAP plan.\nImplement WRAP into your daily life.\nApply the WRAP tools in your work as a Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) or Certified Peer Recovery Coach (CPRC).\n\n  \nTrainers: \nDeborah Monroe\, CPSS\, CPRC\, CHW\, Advanced Level WRAP Facilitator\, has over 15 years of experience grounded in recovery\, connection\, and hope. Jeanne\, her husband Bob\, and her loyal golden retriever have supported peers as they attended their initial peer trainings as onsite coordinator/liaison with MDHHS Peer services area. Jeanne was certified as a WRAP facilitator and advanced level WRAP trainer in 2008. Since then\, she has facilitated many WRAP groups and trained peers across the state of Michigan through MDHHS and her own business\, Recovery INK\, LLC. Since 2020\, Jeanne has worked as both a Peer Warmline responder and supervisor on the Peer Warmline. Jeanne continues her daily pathway of recovery that is built on a positive attitude and personal responsibility. \nEligible for 11 MDHHS continuing education credits. \n  \nThis training is part of our Maryville retreat. This workshop equips participants with a deeper understanding of hidden trauma responses across diverse populations and provides practical strategies for supportive\, trauma-informed engagement that honor each person’s background\, lived experience\, and community context. \nBy the end of this training\, you should: \n\nBe able to identify the concept of “invisible wounds” and describe how trauma can manifest emotionally\, psychologically\, and physically without visible injury.\nUnderstand the hidden impact of trauma\, including how chronic stress and traumatic experiences affect the brain\, body\, and behavior.\nRecognize common barriers that prevent individuals\, especially men and marginalized populations\, from disclosing invisible trauma and seeking support.\nBe prepared to apply trauma-informed principles to support individuals with invisible wounds through validation\, safety-building\, and engagement that respect the person’s background\, identity\, and community experience.\n\nAbout the Trainer: \nDr. Kevin Scott is an honorably discharged decorated Marine Veteran of Operation Desert Storm.
