DESCRIPTION:Explore new pathways in your recovery journey with our interactive online training. Learn how different recovery routes can support your personal growth and those you serve. Through collaboration and self-reflection\, you’ll uncover and share pathways you may not have realized were part of your recovery. Join us for a session of discovery and connection. \nTraining Objectives: \n\nBetter understand many different groups that support multiple pathways.\nLearn about the history of mutual aid groups.\nSelf-discover all the pathways you have used to support your recovery.\nBe able to help the people you serve build a roadmap of their own unique recovery pathway.\n\nTrainers: \nAndrew Brown (BA\, CPRC\, CPRM) is a person in long-term recovery. He is also a trainer for the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) Peer Recovery Coach Curriculum. He is very passionate about a multiple pathways approach to recovery and dedicated to the concept of harm reduction for persons struggling with substance use disorders. \nPriscilla Shafor (BS\, CADC\, CPRM\, CPRC) is a person in long-term recovery. She is a trainer for the MDHHS Peer Recovery Coach Curriculum\, a Core Recovery Coach Academy and Ethics Trainer for Connecticut Community of Addiction Recovery (CCAR). Priscilla has over 20 years’ experience advocating for persons with substance use disorders and legal histories. \nEligible for 4 MDHHS Continuing Education credits. This is a virtual training. Up to 13 virtual Continuing Education credits are allowed to be used towards the 32 credits required for recertification. \nPlease note: Registration will close at 11:59 p.m. on July 3\, 2025. \nRegistration: Please register below (on this site) using a credit or debit card\, which is the quickest way to confirm your attendance. \nOnly if you need to pay by check\, please complete this form (click here) and email it to: registration@mipeers.org. Do not use this form if you are paying by credit/debit card. Please note that this form takes up to 5 business days for processing\, and registration is not assured until we receive the check\, and you receive a confirmation of your registration. \nCancellation Policy: Registrations may be transferred to another employee of the same agency upon written request to registration@mipeers.org. Cancellations must be received in writing at least 12 days prior to the date of the training. Failure to cancel registration within the allotted time will result in registration fees being forfeited. If you are more than 10 minutes late you will not be allowed to attend as part of the CE requirements. Please note there is absolutely NO driving during the training. If you are driving while attending the training\, you will be removed from the training for your own safety. While many ethical issues seem obvious\, others can be more nuanced or unexpected. In this training\, we will explore the Peer Code of Ethics in more detail while outlining effective strategies to set professional boundaries that can help avoid or respond to ethical concerns you may face. \nTraining Objectives: \n\nUnderstand the core components of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) and Certified Peer Recovery Coach (CPRC) code of ethics.\nExplore possibilities of how unethical decisions happen.\nIdentify and evaluate self-care practices to maintain boundaries and ethical behavior.\nExplore how to be more effective when setting and maintaining boundaries.\nPractice and exercise decision-making skills when presented with an ethical dilemma.\n\nEligible for 6.5 MDHHS Continuing Education credits. \nRegistration for this event will end at 11:59 pm on July 16\, 2025. \nRegistration: Please register below (on this site) using a credit or debit card\, which is the quickest way to confirm your attendance. \nONLY if you need to pay by check\, please complete this form (click here) and email it to: registration@mipeers.org.
