SUMMARY:Livonia- Crisis Through a Peer Support Lens
DESCRIPTION:Note: This training is for peers who work in formal crisis settings including mobile crisis teams and crisis services units. \nCrisis Through a Peer Support Lens:\nConnection\, Compassion\, and Care \nAs more peer workers serve in crisis settings roles\, it is vital to understand crisis through a peer lens\, stay rooted in core peer support values and remain anchored in peer support competencies. This training provides information\, skills\, and practical applications that peer workers can use in various crisis settings. \nBy the end of the training\, participants will be able to:\n• Define crisis through a peer support model.\n• Apply core peer support values to crisis situations.\n• Practice trauma-informed responses to reduce traumatization of self and others.\n• Use cultural knowledge to create connections.\n• Develop communication skills to use during crisis situations.\n• Support self and others after a crisis has occurred. \nApproved for 19.5 Continuing Education credits. \nRegistration for this event will end at 11:59 p.m. January 6\, 2026. \nBreakfast and lunch will be served at this training. \nRegistration: Please register below (on this site) using a credit or debit card\, which is the quickest way to confirm your attendance. If you are more than 10 minutes late you will not be allowed to attend as part of the CE requirements. Breaks are built into the training schedule.
