DESCRIPTION:You know the saying\, “If you’re not at the table\, then you might be on the menu!” Learn the roles of the power players so you’re sitting at the table and influencing change! \nObjectives:  \n\nStrengthen Participant Advocacy: Equip you with strategies to claim your seat at the decision-making table and effectively represent your community’s voice.\nDemystify Power Structures: Provide insights into the roles and dynamics of key decision-makers\, empowering you to engage confidently and influence outcomes.\nChampion Inclusive Leadership: Foster skills to advocate for equitable representation and ensure that decisions are made collaboratively\, reflecting the principle “Nothing About Us\, Without Us.”\n\nPresented by: \nTamra Oman is a national speaker\, consultant\, and group facilitator. She believes deeply in cultivating a culture of hope\, healing\, and compassion for all. She was the first “peer/consumer” to be hired in the state of Wisconsin to work in a correctional facility. Ms. Oman uses humor and compassion to connect with her audience. She brings a unique perspective based on her own personal and professional experiences. \nPaula Buege is a fierce advocate for rights and dignity for people to make their own decisions. Currently she works directly with individuals and families who have children experiencing social/emotional/mental health and substance use challenges. She infuses her lived experience into her trainings and daily work. \nRegistration will close at 11:59 p.m. on June 2\, 2025. \nEligible for 4 MDHHS Continuing Education credits. This is a virtual training. Up to 13 virtual Continuing Education credits are allowed to be used towards the 32 credits required for recertification. \nRegistration: Please register below (on this site) using a credit or debit card\, which is the quickest way to confirm your attendance. \nONLY if you need to pay by check\, please complete this form (click here) and email it to: registration@mipeers.org. Cancellations must be received in writing at least 12 days prior to the date of the training. Failure to cancel registration within the allotted time will result in registration fees being forfeited. If you are more than 10 minutes late you will not be allowed to attend as part of the CE requirements. Breaks are built into the training schedule. Participants who miss more than 10 minutes of the training outside of scheduled breaks will not receive CE credit. Attendees must follow the training guidelines.
