DESCRIPTION:The Harm Reduction Approach to Self-Injury challenges common misconceptions and offers practical tools for supporting people who self-injure. Rather than focusing on judgment or forced change\, this training centers on compassion\, choice\, and realistic strategies to reduce harm and build trust. \nLearning Objectives: \nBy the end of this training\, participants will be able to: \n\nIdentify at least three common myths and misunderstandings about self-injury.\nDescribe at least three supportive strategies for someone who wants to reduce or stop self-injury.\nExplain how harm reduction principles apply to self-injury.\nRecognize at least two potential risks of forcing someone to stop self-injuring.\n\nTraining provided by: The Wildflower Alliance. \nEligible for 6.5 MDHHS Continuing Education credits. \nRegistration for this event will end at 11:59 pm on April 21\, 2025. \nRegistration: Please register below (on this site) using a credit or debit card\, which is the quickest way to confirm your attendance. \nONLY if you need to pay by check\, please complete this form (click here) and email it to: registration@mipeers.org. If you are more than 10 minutes late you will not be allowed to attend as part of the CE requirements. Breaks are built into the training schedule.
