SUMMARY:Monroe- The Language of Empowerment
DESCRIPTION:This training is designed to provide the foundation for individuals in recovery from mental health and substance use disorders to act in the national movement to elevate voices of lived experience. We will explore the history of stereotypes and stigma and how that has changed us in our experiences. We will also explore elements of hope and resiliency and how they function as a counterbalance to stigma. You will leave the training with a new set of languages\, educational talking points\, and a message of hope to deliver to your community. \nTrainers: Sara Szczotka & Sarah Derigo \n Objectives \n\nExplore: Explore several types of stigmas.\nLearn: Identify the benefits of adopting a message of recovery\, hope\, and change.\nMake Change: Review methods of engaging community members about recovery.\n\nThe cost of this training is $50. \nEligible for 6.5 MDHHS Continuing Education credits. \nPlease note: Registration will close at 11:59 p.m. on July 31\, 2024. \nRegistration: Please register below (on this site) using a credit or debit card\, which is the quickest way to confirm your attendance. \nONLY if you need to pay by check\, please complete this form (click here) and email it to: registration@mipeers.org.
